Device Loaner Program - FAQ
- What is the Device Loaner Program?
- The Device Loaner Program loans selected Nokia mobile devices to registered Forum Nokia developers to facilitate mobile application development and testing. The program is currently in trial, and available to developers in select North American and European countries.
- How can I participate in the Device Loaner Program?
- In order to participate in the Device Loaner Program you must physically reside either in North America or Europe and have an eStore account with Forum Nokia Developer Programs. If you don’t currently have an eStore account, you can sign up here.
- How much does it cost to borrow a device?
- You’re responsible for all costs associated with the device request, including but not limited to airtime usage, SIM card purchase, and return shipping. Forum Nokia covers the cost for sending the device to you. For more information, please refer to the Device Loaner Agreement.
- What is the process for borrowing a device?
- Submit request. Please review the Device Loaner Agreement carefully before requesting a device.
- How long is the loaner period for each device?
- All devices have a loaner period of three (3) calendar weeks beginning from the date when Nokia has shipped the device to you. Devices must be returned to Forum Nokia on or before the deadline.
- Is there a fee if the device is not returned within three (3) calendar weeks?
- If the device is returned late to Nokia, there is a late fee of thirty US dollars ($ 30.00) or twenty five Euros (€ 25.00) per day for all devices for North America and Europe, respectively.
- Can a device be borrowed for more than three (3) calendar weeks?
- Forum Nokia reserves the right to review and approve this on a case-by-case basis. In order to extend your loan period, the request must be created well in advance prior to the expiration date.
- Is the Device Loaner Program available worldwide?
- Currently, the program is available to developers in select North American and European countries. Please check the Device Loaner Program page for the list of countries.
- Can I check out more than one device at a time?
- Due to the high volume of device requests and the limited number of available devices, we must limit each request to one device.
- Can I make modifications to the device?
- If the device is damaged or modified, the “guarantee fee” of the respective device will be charged to your credit card. Please refer to the Device Loaner Agreement for detailed information.
- Does the service on the device include support for data and/voice?
- No, voice and data services are not included as part of the device request.
- How soon can I expect to receive my device?
- The requested device will be shipped within reasonable time period from the receipt of your request. We hope to ship the requested device within three (3) business days.
