Breakthrough with Quality

Long over is the age of the secluded solo coder, who,
shut away from the world, heroically creates epic applications. Winning the application quality game requires mastery of many different aspects of quality, and the magic recipe for quality calls for a variety of
ingredients: software maturity, business considerations, and the final touches that ensure that each product has emotional appeal.

However, practice has shown that the magic of quality is not as elusive as it seems. It can be achieved via a sequence of planned and efficient steps -- from concept creation to final testing, marketing, and user feedback.

Planning ahead and doing the right thing at the right time. It makes sense, doesn’t it?

A practical mobile-application-development process is a key component of overall product quality. The track record of every successful application shows that quality must be built into the application during each phase of the process. Quality is not an extra adornment that can be glued onto the final application after everything else is done. Quality must be a consideration during all phases of the application development process, and it must be viewed as an ongoing, continuous step in the process.

The Magic Recipe for Quality

The fact is that quality can be measured in cold facts, as well as in terms of user satisfaction and business savvy. In practice this means that to build a successful product you need -- at a minimum -- to do the following:

  • Verify your business case and product idea with your target users: A healthy business case takes into account existing market requirements and opportunities and balances them with development costs.
  • Ensure technical accuracy and maturity: The final product must be polished, bug-free, and thoroughly tested to ensure that it runs like clockwork.
  • Design for emotional appeal: The user experience and visual look should be geared to impress and to enable smooth operation.

There is more to quality that you think. "Quality" is the middle name of most of today’s successful brands. To find out more about the ingredients you need to build a winning application, check out What is quality, exactly?
