About Open C
Open C is a set of industry-standard POSIX and middleware C libraries that let developers of native C++ applications for S60 reuse existing software assets, including open source projects written in standard C. Open C lets Symbian and S60 developers integrate a wide array of existing solutions into their applications, and lets C and C++ developers extend the reach of their applications and services to Nokia mobile devices.
The Open C SDK plug-in for S60 3rd Edition SDKs provides developers with access to a comprehensive range of functions from nine well-known standard POSIX and middleware C libraries - libc, libdl, libpthread, libm, libz, libcrypt, libcrypto, libglib, and libssl.
These Open C libraries provide a Linux-like, vendor-neutral C-programming interface to core functions on S60 devices.
