Welcome to the Nokia Mobile Internet Toolkit 4.0 section from Forum Nokia. NMIT 4.0 is the essential tool for everyone who wants to develop mobile browsing and Multimedia Message Service (MMS) solutions for Nokia devices. We are collecting resources for developers in a single place. Tell us what you think >>

Nokia Mobile Internet Toolkit 4.0

This toolkit provides all the tools necessary to develop appealing mobile browsing or messaging applications. If your solution is based on WML, XHTML, or MMS, NMIT 4.0 provides all the needed building blocks, from various content editors to a very flexible browser simulator and even the Nokia WAP Gateway Simulator, which supports local clients. And, last but not least, our Nokia Content Publishing Toolkit, which is also part of the NMIT 4.0 download, is the perfect tool to generate Open Mobile Alliance Digital Rights Management (OMA DRM) content.

The NMIT 4.0 Starter Package provides all the tools in one convenient download.

The NMIT 4.0 Starter Package contains the following components:

Nokia Mobile Internet Toolkit (NMIT): This is a set of editors for creating various types of mobile Internet content with a built-in mechanism for displaying the content using a set of supported phones and phone SDKs.

Nokia Mobile Browser Simulator (NMB): This is a mobile Internet browser SDK for browsing mobile Internet content (WML, XHTML, and Push messages) from the Internet or your local file system.

Read the Nokia Mobile Browser 4.0 Simulator User's Guide
NMB download >>

Nokia WAP Gateway Simulator (NWGS): This is a single-user WAP gateway enabling the SDK to access the mobile Internet without a connection to a live WAP gateway. It supports only local clients.

Nokia Update Manager (NUM): This tool helps you manage and update your Nokia tools. Display a list of supported Forum Nokia products currently installed on your computer or a list of Forum Nokia plug-ins available for your installed Forum Nokia products, and download those of interest to you. You can also use the Nokia Update Manager to display a list of all Forum Nokia products that you can download and install.

If you do not need all the tools from day one, choose the fundamental NMIT 4.0 package, which already includes the Nokia Update Manager.

Browsing

Mobile browsing technology is evolving from WAP 1.x to WAP 2.0, introducing a new markup language for mobile content development, XHTML Mobile Profile (XHTML MP) with WAP Cascading Style Sheets (WAP CSS). This technical evolution provides content developers with graphical presentation capabilities and full control of the layout of their mobile services, thus enabling easy service optimization for different user interfaces. more >>
