Tommi Mikkonen
Doctor of technology, professor, head of the Institute of Software Systems at Tampere University of Technology
Finland
I have been teaching programming mobile devices since 2002. During the years, the class has been distributed to numerous universities in Finland using the Internet as a carrier. Commonly, the number of participants in such a collective class can be up to 500. Furthermore, for the purposes of the class, I have written a textbook on programming mobile devices (unfortunately, it is available in Finnish only).
Working as a professor of distributed and mobile systems has also given me a great view on the future of mobile systems development in terms of thesis work which I have supervised over the years.
