Mr. Thomas Riisgaard Hansen
University of Aarhus
Ph.D.
Denmark
Thomas Riisgaard Hansen, Ph.D., is a researcher at University of Aarhus, Denmark where he works on how to design for, and interact, with pervasive and mobile devices and computers. He has been working with the S60 platform for more than four years and has developed a number of novel and innovative applications, which have been published and presented worldwide. The AwarePhone is e.g. a commercially available application designed for hospital work where doctors can follow the progress in different operating rooms and communicate with co-workers and key-locations. The Mixed Interaction Space suite of applications shows how computer vision can be optimized to run on mobile devices and demonstrates e.g. real time face tracking on mobile devices. His current research interest is especially focused on integrating mobile devices with existing nearby computer technology and with the emergent area of web technology for mobile devices.
