Mr. Sittiphol Phanvilai
Bachelor’s degree, computer engineering, Chulalongkorn University
Thailand
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. I have been involved in Symbian programming since 2003. At that time, I developed my first Symbian application, ELS (Enhanced Location-Based Services) as an entry for the DTAC & Nokia DOT Awards III, a mobile application competition in Thailand. I won the grand prize, and I have been developing Symbian applications since then.
Since winning that award, I have developed more than 20 Symbian applications. Most of them are freeware. I am most proud of ZThai”, Thai Language System for Symbian 6.1a and Symbian 7.0s. It is currently preloaded in Nokia 7610 phones and Nokia 3230 smartphones in Thailand. Another of my applications, MobiTubia, a YouTube client application, let me win the grand prize for my first global competition, Forum Nokia Open C Challenge.
I focus on novel and innovative software and hardware development. My main programming language is Symbian C++. Currently, I am studying in the master of engineering program in computers at Chulalongkorn University, and I continue to develop Symbian applications on a freelance basis. I lecture on Symbian application development. I try my best to support and improve the mobile application development skills of developers in Thailand. I always think that it’s good to develop applications, but to improve the skills of other developers is much better.
My motto is “Experience is the best teacher.”
