Mr. Jacek Wojciechowski
M.Sc. in software engineering
Poland

My adventure with mobile technologies started with the arrival of the WAP era. Then I proved my professional technical knowledge by making server-side applications for a Polish GSM operator. I’ve developed access to the operator’s loyalty program through short message service (SMS)/Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD), settings service for phones available through SMS and WWW (based on standards of the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) and Nokia Smart Messaging), and the operator’s WAP phone book. My knowledge and experience grew, and I founded my own company. I managed Symbian and Java™ development projects for international clients. Lately, I have taken the first steps in creating mobile multimedia (for example, ring tones, wallpapers, and video) for a media company. Of course, it’s not easy to be an expert in all mentioned areas, so I need to update my knowledge frequently. A good way to do this is to read Forum Nokia documents and discussion boards, check code examples, and create some of my own prototype applications. I’m full of new ideas, and some of my innovative solutions have received awards (for example, WAP service for a radio station, including elements of interactive contact with radio listeners; mobile software that assists in supplementing the delivery chain; mobile reporting of purchases, sales, and warehouse service; SMS Scheduler for Series 60).

I’m an early adopter, and I like learning about new mobile technologies that let us be truly mobile and make our life easier. That’s why I’d like in the future to continue my career and professional development in the research department of an international company.
