Mr. Angelo Perkusich

Angelo Perkusich is a professor at the Electrical Engineering Department (DEE), Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG) since 2002. Dr. Perkusich has got his Ph.D and Master degrees in Electrical Engineering both from Federal University of Paraíba in 1988 and 1994, respectively. He was a visiting researcher at the Department of Computer Science, University of Pittsburgh, PA, USA, from 1992 to 1993, and developed research activities on software engineering and formal methods.
He is currently the principal investigator of research projects financed by public institutions such as FINEP (Brazilian Agency for Research and Studies) and CNPq (Brazilian National Research Council), as well private companies such as Nokia Brasil, all of them focused on mobile and pervasive computing. The main focus on such research projects are on component based software development, dynamic software composition, unanticipated software evolution, plug-in based development, mobile pervasive and ubiquitous computing, and open source software development. He has over 20 years of teaching experience in the university as well as training courses for industry in the context of software for real-time systems, software engineering, embedded systems, computer networks, formal methods, and Symbian operating system.
Recently he has been leading the research cooperation projects with Nokia Brasil, Nokia Institute of Technology at Recife, Brazilian Oil Company Research Center, Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Federal University of Alagoas and Catholic University of Pernambuco. Dr. Perkusich was with Federal University of Pernambuco from 1988 to 1991, and from Federal University of Paraíba from 1991 to 2002, and an embedded system engineer at Calcon Tecnologia S/A from 1986 to 1988. His main research areas are: Software Engineering, Mobile Pervasive Computing and Formal Methods. Dr. Perkusich has more than 150 papers published and advised 25 master thesis and 7 doctoral dissertations.
