Nokia 6131 NFC SDK 1.1

The Nokia 6131 NFC SDK allows developers to create and emulate Java™ applications (MIDlets) for the Nokia 6131 NFC mobile phone. The SDK includes the Contactless Communication API (JSR‑257), which enables the use of the Near Field Communication (NFC) features of the Nokia 6131 NFC phone. In addition to the standard JSR‑257 API, the SDK includes extensions for several tag technologies, peer-to-peer connections, and branding configuration. The Nokia 6131 NFC SDK contains a Nokia 6131 NFC phone emulator, Java APIs, example MIDlets, and documentation.

Developers can use one of a number of popular integrated development environments (IDEs) to create, compile, and package MIDlets. The behavior of these MIDlets can then be tested in the emulator, directly from the IDE. The emulator can also be used as a stand-alone program from the command line.

The Nokia 6131 NFC emulator provides for the simulation of NFC tags and Java Card technology-enabled smart cards. The emulator supports external card readers, enabling developers to test a MIDlet’s ability to read and write to physical NFC tags or communicate with a smart card placed on the external reader.

The Nokia 6131 NFC emulator offers support for mobile information device profile (MIDP) 2.0, security domain emulation, and Bluetooth technology emulation, and provides support for the Unified Emulator Interface. The SDK includes a plug-in that enables use of the SDK in conjunction with the Eclipse IDE, as well as Nokia Connectivity Framework Lite, which offers a fast and easy-to-use communication environment for emulators.
