The Carbide.ui family of tools enable the creation of themes for Symbian and Series 40 devices. Carbide.ui provides access to all the customisable theme elements in the Symbian and Series 40 UIs, which are among the most customisable device UI available. Carbide.ui is designed for professionals and hobbyists alike.

Carbide.ui Series 40 Theme Edition 4.0 is available. This updated version of Carbide.ui provides:

• Plug-ins management, enabling future versions of the Series 40 platform to be easily added or removed from Carbide.ui. The plug-in information in the tool's Preferences option improves on earlier version by displaying the plug-in version number.
• Deployment of packages themes using Ovi Suite, which simplifies installing themes on a device for testing.
• Improved workspace management, with a feature to delete one or more themes from the workspace.

Note: Developers wishing to create themes for S60 2nd Edition devices or audio themes for S60 devices can do so by using Carbide.ui 3.4 Theme Edition.
