S60 Platform SDK for Symbian OS, for C++ Plug-ins are software packages for developers creating C++ applications for S60 devices. The plug-ins extend the features of a S60 Platform SDK, improving device emulation, adding functionality that is not included in shipped devices or adding functionality that is specific to a certain device. The plug-ins allow a greater range of applications to be built and tested using the S60 Platform SDK emulator. The Extensions plug-in for the S60 3rd Edition SDK provides developers with additional Multimedia Framework and Calendar APIs. S60 cannot guarantee source compatibility (SC) for these API's with future releases of the S60 SDK.

The Extensions plug-in is compatible with S60 3rd Edition SDK for Symbian OS, for C++, Maintenance Release (MR).

The plug-in is compatible with the IDEs supported by the S60 3rd Edition SDK for Symbian OS, for C++, MR:

• CodeWarrior for Symbian OS.
• Carbide.c++ Express
• Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 2003 with Carbide.vs

Emulator features
This plug-in provides full API support to the S60 3rd Edition SDK for Symbian OS, for C++, MR emulator. However, the emulator may not provide all the features seen on S60 3rd Edition devices, which may ship with additional codecs.

Device support
Some early S60 3rd Edition phones may not support the Calendar Interim Utils 2 API.
