Setting up the CLI environment

Before you set up the CLI environment, make sure you have all the components that you require.

To set up your CLI environment:

  1. Install ActivePerl, your Java Run-Time Environment (JRE), and the S60 Platform SDK for Symbian OS, for C++ Feature Pack 1.

  2. Install Carbide.c++ Express v1.1.

    Note: Install Carbide.c++ Express v1.1 on the same drive as you install the SDK.

  3. In the <Carbide.c++_Express_Installation_folder>\Carbide.c++ Express v1.1\plugins\com.nokia.carbide.cpp.support_1.1.0.5\env_switch folder, double-click the env_update.exe file and select the latest compiler version.

    If you install Carbide.c++ Express in its default folder, the path is C:\Program Files\Nokia\Carbide.c++ Express v1.1\plugins\com.nokia.carbide.cpp.support_1.1.0.5\env_switch.

  4. Close the command prompt.
