Why mobilise websites?

Do you have a website? Have you considered how to maximise traffic from mobile devices? Learn more about the growth of the mobile web and why you should consider mobilising your website »

The e-learning module Designing Web Content and Services for Nokia S60 Devices discusses mobile web browsing characteristics, web runtime environments, web page design issues for mobile devices, and the most important website development and testing tools, and it offers a state-of-the-art overview of the existing technologies available for web developers. The module focuses on developing web content for S60 devices, but the information can be applied to other devices as well.

Find out more about mobile web technology from Nokia

Nokia has implemented a wealth of web technologies in the Series 40 platform and S60 platform. Whether you want information on the latest implementation of the WebKit browser for Series 40 or S60 devices or to find out how your Web Runtime (WRT) widgets can access information on a user’s S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 2 or S60 5th Edition device from Nokia, it’s all in the Web technologies section of Forum Nokia.

Discover tools to help mobilise your website

Nokia has created a range of tools designed to make mobilising your website easy and straightforward. These include plug-ins for Aptana Studio, Adobe Dreamweaver, and Microsoft Visual Studio that simplify the development of S60 WRT widgets; emulators that allow web sites and S60 WRT widgets to be tested on a PC; and tools from mobiForge to assist with creating mobile optimised websites. To find out more about these tools, visit the Tools for Mobile Web Developers page.

Access a Nokia device for development or testing

Nokia offers two services for remote device access. These services enable you to access Nokia devices over the Internet. Read more about the services »
