“Calling All Innovators” competition – has three distinct categories for submission, and one is called the “Eco-Challenge.” In this case, the contest is seeking those applications that will minimise mobility’s global environmental impact and help people make sustainable choices. This is certainly a tall order. But it can be done. And it is being done today.

One application that exemplifies the goals of the Eco-Challenge – and the latest pick for Application of the Week – is an application that was developed by Nokia called “we:offset”, which is the “the world's first CO2 emission offsetting tool” for your mobile phone.
