Avoiding unnecessary Symbian Signed test rounds can save developers time and money. To showcase the importance of the process and its effect on the application quality, the S60 Platform: HTTP Client API Example has been taken through the official Symbian Signed process. Forum Nokia has also produced several solutions for the most common failures in Symbian Signed tests, and developers can easily use these code snippets in their applications. Because Symbian Signed is an easy way to improve the quality of any Symbian C++ application, developers are encouraged to test all their applications, even self-signed ones, against the Symbian Signed test criteria (PDF).
For developers who are new to the Symbian Signed testing program, Forum Nokia offers two valuable resources. Developers can learn to prepare their S60 applications for Symbian Signed by viewing a Webinar or listening to a Symbian Signed eLearning module.

Developer Dale Rankine has bet the future of his company, Moket Pty Ltd., on Flash Lite — and so far the bet has been a winner. Since the company's founding three years ago, Moket has created a wide variety of Flash Lite content for S60 3rd Edition devices, including games, wallpapers, screen savers and animated cartoons. The bet on Flash Lite has paid off so well that Australia-based Moket has grown from a one-man shop to seven team members in just 18 months. The company has also become a Flash Lite aggregator for other independent developers and is in talks with international TV networks to create an animated show that can be played on both television and S60 3rd Edition devices.
