Luis is a PhD candidate in informatics at Brazil’s Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro and a member of VisionLab at that university. As an undergraduate and a master’s degree candidate, he conducted research in computer graphics and game development for PCs. His work has helped to start a research programme on game development at the graduate program of the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF-Brazil).
Currently, his research focuses on digital entertainment for mobile phones. This includes pervasive games, new ways –such as gestures and other cool things -- of interacting with phone games.
In the mobile industry, he has been selected as a Forum Nokia Champion twice (in 2007 and 2008), and he’s part of the Forum Nokia Wiki administration team.
Luis has won Nokia contests, including:

Accelerinvaders, the first game for the Nokia N95 that uses the accelerometer, is available at MOSH and, at the time of this writing, the download count (at MOSH, all revisions of the game) was over 57,000. A video is available on YouTube.
