Austria
Andreas Jakl is employed as an assistant professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Hagenberg, Austria. He teaches mobile development on various platforms including Symbian OS, as well as courses dealing with interaction technology and scientific writing. He has created the official Symbian training materials for use in more than 60 universities worldwide and has been giving multiday development training at events organized by Nokia and Symbian. His research focuses on processing sensor information in combination with image processing on mobile phones.
Additionally, Mr. Jakl is the chief executive officer and founder of Mopius, a company that develops entertainment applications and games for mobile phones. Realized projects include unique location-based games such as The Journey and RealReplay, which have been featured on TV and in several international newspapers, and have won prestigious awards. Based on his experience, he also provides consulting services on mobile technology.
Previously, Mr. Jakl worked on unique augmented-reality games at Siemens and BenQ Mobile. He earned his master’s degree at the department of digital media of the University of Applied Sciences in Hagenberg.
