The Mobile Developer Days 2008 (MDD08) event, held September 10-12 in Berlin, was successful. More than 150 attendees from all over the world registered for the event. At MDD08, developers gathered to share ideas and views on mobile programming and gained an understanding of existing platforms and programming languages for implementing their own ideas on mobile devices.
In half-day tutorials on the first day, participants spent hands-on time with devices and programmed simple examples of Python, Open Sensor, location-based services (LBS), and other applications.
Four tracks organized the activities of the second and third days. The first three tracks were hosted by Nokia, Symbian, and Trolltech. The fourth track was open to presentations, which were held by service providers, mobile manufacturers, and programmers. These presentations covered various areas of mobile services, peer-to-peer networks, social mobile networks, wireless grids, platforms, languages, and enhanced applications. In parallel to the oral sessions, demonstrations were conducted by various institutions.
